Commissioning a work of art is a unique experience in that it allows you to drive the expression of the artist. When beginning this process it is important to remember that, “True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist.” (Einstein). Because of this, you should ensure that the artist you select to create your artwork has a style and a mood that fits both you, and the piece you would like to have created. The satisfaction of both you and the artist are more important to us than simply winning your business.

To begin the process of requesting a commission, you may fill out our online request form, taking the time to accurately and fully supply all of the requested information. Being complete here will help get the whole process moving smoothly. Once we receive your request we will contact you within a couple days to discuss your commission.

We begin working on your commission by making one or more sketches based upon the information provided and our conversations with you. You will be given the opportunity to review these sketches, choose your favorite, and discuss alterations. After selecting a sketch and agreeing on a price, a 25% non-refundable deposit will be collected before work is begun on the final piece. Once completed, you will be shown a digital proof of the art. The final payment will be due at that time, and shipping arrangements will be made.

Notes:

• If you live in or near Indianapolis, Indiana, arrangements can be made to visit the artist in person and see the sketches and completed work first-hand.

• Acceptable payments include PayPal, Money Order, Cashier's Check, or Cash (in-person only).

• Due to the slow cure time of oil paint, it may be several weeks once an oil painting is complete before we can safely package it up for shipping.

• Psychedelic Creations and/or its artists will retain copyrights to all sketches, paintings, artwork, and representations. A digital representation of your completed commission will be posted to our online gallery.
