Although a college graduate my education in art has been both informal and non-traditional, allowing me a bit more freedom of expression. My passion lies not with a specific tool or medium, but with the power to express myself in various ways. As you browse my gallery you will probably get an insight into my psyche (fairies make me happy!). I receive inspiration from the works of Dali, Van Gogh, da Vinci, Boisier, Michelangelo, Renoir, Cezanne, Rockwell, Degas, and many more... Over the years I have created pieces with different mediums, styles, and color schemes, constantly looking for the next crazy idea. What I am ultimately trying to accomplish is a style full of new ideas that is uniquely me, not just another computer-generated creation. Whether salvaging art "supplies" from a dumpster or making unique alterations to personalize common items, the point is to have fun! Of course, I love it when I can create shock or awe in the eye of the beholder, or simply make people stare... This is not art for the masses. Athenaeus once said, "In early times, popularity with the masses was a sign of bad art; hence when a certain aulos player once received a loud applause, Asopodorus of Philius, who was himself still waiting in the wings, said 'What's this? Something awful must have happened'... and yet the musicians of our day set as a goal of their art success with their audiences." I am not looking for popuilarity but rather to communicate an idea or concept with you, the beholder. I want to make you think, ponder, dream, because it is time to let loose and have fun. (And sometimes I just want to make pretty things!)
